How PNG to WebP works

Files are validated, decoded, resized when requested, and encoded by your browser. The application does not send image files to a server, and animated inputs are rejected instead of silently losing frames.

Convert transparent PNG graphics to WebP

WebP supports transparent pixels, so a logo or cutout can retain its transparent background. This converter uses lossy WebP: transparency is supported, but that does not mean every color or edge is identical to the original PNG.

Inspect small lettering, thin lines and soft shadows in the preview. Increase quality if edges look rough. Very simple or already optimized PNGs may be smaller than the converted file; keep PNG when it gives the better result or your destination requires it.
